Apple hinted that the rumored new iPhone 6 would have a release date in 2014 with other gadgets on the way.
In a recent lengthy memo to employees, obtained by 9to5Mac, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that there were "big plans" for 2014.
"We have a lot to look forward to in 2014, including some big plans that we think customers are going to love," Cook said. "I am extremely proud to stand alongside you as we put innovation to work serving humankind's deepest values and highest aspirations. I consider myself the luckiest person in the world for the opportunity to work at this amazing company with all of you."
Apart of those "big plans" could definitely be the rumored new iPhone 6.
According to ValueWalk.com, it is widely rumored that the iPhone 6 will release in May 2014. It is rumored to have a 5-inch screen powered with the 20nm processor manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company TSMC.
However, Latin Post said that the iPhone 6 will have a 4.8-inch display.
Along with the iPhone 6, Apple is rumored to launch a 12.9-inch tablet in October 2014, targeting North America's educational market, according to TheEpochTimes.com.
"With Samsung Electronics also reportedly planning to release 12- to 13-inch tablets, the sources believe these large-size tablets will greatly impact ultrabook demand," sources said from the upstream supply chain. "Apple's large-size tablet will be manufactured by Quanta Computer, and was originally expected to adopt either 12.9- or 13.3-inch panels, with recent rumors indicating that 12.9-inch has a better chance to be picked, the sources noted."
Latin Post said that the 12.9-inch tablet could be named iPad Pro or iPad Maxi.
Apple fans may also see the release of the next new operating system, iOS 8.
