Customers will receive a $50 gift cad to apply to the $99 price tag of the 5C.

And now Radio Shack has announced it has the handset for $50, the Sun Sentinel reports.

Meanwhile, iPhone users can get their hands on a jailbreak for iOS 7 soon.

A tethered jailbreak for iApple's new mobile operating system is current in the works and is expected to drop within weeks, Jailbreak.com reports.

In related news, Apple's slim new case for its new iPhone has earned top marks from users.

The official case for the iPhone 5S is a slim leather body that will keep your device in top shape.

It features a premium gripping surface and plenty of protection without adding too much bulk, Gotta Be Mobile reports.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 5S dominated the cheaper iPhone 5C in a durability test.

Apple's flagship iPhone 5S easily endured drops and underwater dunks in recent tests, CBS News reports.

The iPhone 5C, meanwhile, shattered during the overhead drop portion of the test.

In related news, Apple's new iPhone trounced other phones in new benchmark tests.

The iPhone 5S is flying off the shelves like no smartphone before it.

Combined sales of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5 topped 9 million over the weekend and Apple confirmed it's the fastest-selling iPhone yet, CNET reports.

"The demand for the new iPhones has been incredible, and while we've sold out of our initial supply of iPhone 5S, stores continue to receive new iPhone shipments regularly," Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement. "We appreciate everyone's patience and are working hard to build enough new iPhones for everyone."

The iPhone 5S is the first smartphone to pack a 64-bit chip - and the hardware trounces other phones in new benchmark tests.

The phone beat out rival quad-core devices from Samsung, LG, HTC and Motorola despite its dual-core and just 1GB of RAM, BGR reports.

The 5S outclassed phones including Samsung's Galaxy S4 and LG's G2 in every CPU

Apple's iPhone 5C is a lower-cost alternative to the flagship iPhone 5S that comes in green, blue, pink, yellow and white.

It comes in two variants: 16GB for $99 and 32GB for $199, each with two-year contract. It launches Sept. 20.

An Apple official said the phone is "beautifully, unapologetically plastic."

The hardware for the colorful, plastic iPhone matches the current-gen iPhone 5 -- and even exceeds it in some respects, CNET reports.

The 5C is powered by an Apple A6 processor and boasts 1GB of RAM, just like the iPhone 5. Its 8-megapixel rear camera and 720p front-facing camera are also identical to the iPhone 5 hardware.

Where the 5C beats the 5 is on the scale: it's about 0.7 ounces lighter and about .05 inches thinner.

It also runs on iOS 7, an upgrade over the iPhone 5 which is powered by the iOS 6 operating system.

Apple also unveiled the iPhone 5S, its new flagship device. The phone comes in silver, slate or gold and packs a fingerprint sensor that could make it the most secure smartphone ever.

It will launch alongside the cheaper plastic iPhone 5C in the US, Japan, China and other countries on Sept. 20, the New York Times reports.

It will come in three variants: 16GB for $199, 32GB for $299 and 64GB for $399, all on contract.

Like prior iPhone models the 5S boasts a 4-inch display. Under the hood it packs a snappy A7 chip, making it the first 64-bit smartphone. Apple claims the phone is 40 times faster than the original iPhone.

The iPhone 5S is also the first Apple device to include an M7 chip, which it uses to measure motion using an accelerometer and gyroscopes.

And the new "iSight" camera is able to autodetect white balance as soon as the app is launched. It also includes burst mode and true tone flash and a sophisticated image stabilizer.

As anticipated the phone packs a fingerprint sensor, dubbed TouchID, that scans your fingertip with 360 degrees of readability.

It's the first Apple product with the ability to recognize biometric feedback. The feature will be used to unlock the phone and may even supply identity verification for quick and easy purchases from the App store or other online outlets.
