Karl Lagerfeld Releases A $2,850 Exclusive Art Supply Set, Karlbox
It is officially the month of Sept. and time for students and teachers to head back to school.
For some, heading back to school may mean shopping for specific supplies. If you are in need of fine art tools, you're in luck, because Karl Lagerfeld just announced his partnership with Faber-Castell to create an exclusive art supply kit, the Karlbox.
This limited-edition collection could be yours for a whopping $2,850. Only 2,500 black lacquered boxes have been made and each includes its own serial number as well as a certificate of authenticity. The Karlbox features 350 different supreme pencils and paint options, along with 120 Albrecht Dürer artist's water-soluble color pencils.
The color palettes have been specifically selected by the couturier himself and each color family is spelled out in three different languages: English, French and German. The wooden framed box which is reminiscent of a Chinese wedding cabinet features individual drawers that can be removed for specific use. A foldable Clic & Go water up is almost included.
According to WWD, Lagerfeld states Faber-Castell has been a symbol of quality since he was a child in Germany. And he hasn't stopped sketching since those days. "What amuses me while drawing is the fact to draw. To me drawing is like breathing and writing. These are things that almost relax me," expressed Lagerfeld.
