'The Flash' Season 3 Spoilers: 'Teen Wolf' Star Susan Walters Cast As Caitlin Snow's Mom
Susan Walters has been cast as Caitlin's (Danielle Panabaker) mom in the upcoming season 3 of "The Flash."
According to Entertainment Weekly, Walters' character is named Dr. Carla Tannhauser, a world class biomedical engineer and CEO of a major research firm. While Caitlin may have inherited her mom's expertise in the field of science, the two have long had a difficult relationship. Caitlin finds her mom cold and withholding, while Carla regards her daughter as rebellious and ungrateful.
Caitlin's mom was first mentioned in season 2, episode 19 ("Back to Normal"), in which the S.T.A.R. Labs' resident bio-engineer came face-to-face with her Earth-2 doppelganger Killer Frost, who also happens to have cold relationship with her own mom.
Walters, whose credits include "Teen Wolf," "The Vampire Diaries," and "Star-Crossed," will potentially recur in season 3 of "The Flash."
The 52-year-old actress took to Twitter to express her excitement in joining the show. "I can't wait to join @CWTVFlash and work with @dpanabaker!! #TheFlash," Walters tweeted.

In an interview with Mashable last June, Panabaker said: "I would like to learn more of Caitlin's family. I think we saw a little snippet of Earth-2 Killer Frost's family that allowed Caitlin to open up a little bit more [about her own family, too]. I would like to learn more about Caitlin's mom and her relationship with her mom."
