'Scandal' Season 6 Spoilers: 'Glee' Alum Jessalyn Gilsig To Play Scott Foley's Onscreen Wife
"Scandal" season 6 recently recast Jake Ballard's (Scott Foley) wife.
According to TV Line, Jake's wife was previously played by actress Joelle Carter.
However, the latter will no longer return to the hit ABC series after becoming a regular cast member in NBC's "Chicago Justice."
As such, the producers of "Scandal" have decided to tap "Glee" alum Jessalyn Gilsig for the role.
Gilsig previously played the role of Will Schuester's (Matthew Morrison) wife Terri before they eventually decided to file for divorce. Will eventually tied the knot with Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays).
Meanwhile, Gilsig expressed her excitement over her casting for "Scandal" season 6.
Been very excited to share this! Glad Joelle is onto something exciting and happy to step in! https://t.co/ISAFWC4Vht

On her Twitter account, the actress said that she's happy to step into Carter's old role.
She also replied to one writer's tweet about her involvement in "Scandal" season 6.
In season 5, Jake and Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) were ready to get back together.
However, before Jake could cancel his wedding, Olivia's dad Rowan (Joe Morton) told her that she should reconsider doing so.
After all, if Olivia and Jake don't push through with the wedding, Rowan might be forced to kill Jake.
Before walking down the aisle, Olivia told Jake that she no longer wants to be with him.
She added that she's still in love with President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) and has therefore decided to choose him.
In other news, the premiere date for "Scandal" season 6 has been moved back to mid-season after Washington gives birth to her second child.
"Scandal" season 6 will premiere on ABC sometime in January or February 2017.
