The new season of "The Bachelorette" is kicking off soon. In preparation for the show, Joelle 'JoJo' Fletcher recently sat down for a press conference with reporters to talk about her show and her time on "The Bachelor" with Ben Higgins, Entertainment Tonight reports.

In the season 20 finale, Ben Higgins chose contestant Lauren Bushnell over Fletcher. However, he had told both women that he loved them.

"When I was in it, I had no idea," Fletcher said. "Now [watching the show], it's clear as day why he chose Lauren."

In a recent sit down with the "The Bachelorette" women of past seasons, Fletcher revealed that because Higgins told her "I love you," she is much more cautious about saying it to her potential suitors.

In the press conference, she explained that her time on "The Bachelor" was "hard" and left her "heartbroken, crushed and confused." However, she did take it as a positive learning experience.

"Even though it didn't work out with Ben, it definitely did something positive for me at the end and that was what helped me go into this season," she said.

"One thing that I learned from that last season and my relationship with Ben was that it taught me a lot about what a good relationship should be like," she said. "As far as that respect between each other, that feeling you should have, what you want when you think of your husband."

"It definitely taught me what I deserve, and what kind of men are out there," she continued." But as a girl who's had her heart broken, you always are scared of heartbreak. I came into this promising myself that I'd be open-minded and let my walls down and be vulnerable, but it's also a fear because it's a two-way street at the end of the day. I have to choose someone and love someone, but they'd have to choose me back."

Here is to hoping JoJo will find love in this upcoming season of "The Bachelorette." It will premiere Monday, May 23 at 9 p.m. on ABC. Check out JoJo's sit down with the other bachelorettes below and a sneak peek at the upcoming season.
