‘House of Cards’ Season 2 Premiere Release Date On Netflix: ‘Early 2014,’ Reports Say
The second season of "House of Cards" is midway through filming. But when will the second installment of the streaming-series hit Netflix?
Although the streaming television has not announced an official release date, many outlets, such as the Christian Post, report it should arrive "early in 2014."
"House of Cards" has gained widespread popularity since its release in February, even securing 14 Emmy Award nominations.
Even House Majority Whip, Kevin McCarthy, discussed the series. McCarthy explained that he had received a call from Kevin Spacey.
"I'll say about Spacey, I actually liked him - philosophically we're different - but do you know why? I believe if Spacey made 100 bucks a week acting he'd still act," Majority House Whip Kevin McCarthy said about Spacey.
Kevin Spacey received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Francis Underwood. As previously reported, the show was nominated for best drama, best actor, and best actress on Thursday morning as the candidates for the 65th awards were revealed. Stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright both received acting bids alongside big-screen actors.
"It's a very exciting time for the industry. Since we debuted, a lot of other organizations and streaming companies have announced that they're doing original content," Spacey said of the streaming series. "The more shows that are produced, the more writers are hired, producers are hired, actors are hired, directors are hired, it means the more people will get employed. It's better for the economy. It's a fantastic thing."
