Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date Rumor: Coming in 2013? [VIDEO]
The successor to Samsung's flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone may be coming much sooner than expected.
New rumors suggest the Galaxy S5 could hit retail shelves in 2013 thanks to disappointing sales of the S4, Stabley Times reports. The S5 was previously expected to debut in 2014.
The next iteration is expected to receive a design overhaul after the Galaxy S4 debuted looking virtually identical to its predecessor, the Galaxy S3.

In particular the phone may be made of a sturdier material since consumers have complained the plastic bodies of current Galaxy S phones feel cheap, the International Business Times reports.
Rumored specs are also flying. Experts expect the S5 will boast a 16-core processor with 2GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel camera, multi-touch screen and carbon fiber body.
The much-hyped Galaxy S4 got off to a quick start after it launched in March, Android Community reports. The phone topped 20 million in sales in the first three month, with estimates that Samsung would move more than 100 million units in total.
But reports suggested even those sales numbers fell short of Samsung's expectations, sparking an "internal crisis" for the company.
Samsung reacted with a flurry of variant models including the Galaxy S4 Mini, Zoom and Active.
The flagship S4 model features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, multi-touch screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of ram and 16GB of internal storage.
