Kendrick Lamar may have shocked some hip-hop fans with his recent claims on Big Sean's "Control," but it's getting kind of hard to argue with the Compton-bred rapper's claims.

Kendrick's album good kid m.A.A.D. city has officially gone platinum, and the MC was presented with his plaque on stage Wednesday night. It appears Lamar's verse on "Control" got him back on the minds of hip-hop fans, as the album re-entered the Billboard Top 40 last week, which helped push the LP over the 1 million copies mark.

Congrats to Kendrick on the achievement.
