Droid Maxx, Ultra Delay, Specs, Price: Shipping Dates for New Devices Slips to Late August [VIDEO]
Anticipating the release of the Droid Maxx or Droid Ultra? You'll have to wait a bit longer than expected.
Shipping dates for both devices have slipped to Aug. 27 -- exactly one week past the previously promised shipping date of Aug. 20, Android Community reports.
The reason for the delay is unknown.
The new handsets replace last year's Droid RAZR HD and RAZR Maxx HD, offering a boost in battery and a bevy of other upgrades over their predecessors.
Both sport sleek Kevlar bodies and a 10-megapixel camera, Engadget reports.
Under the hood the Ultra has a Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Its 7.8mm profile makes it the thinnest 4G LTE smartphone available.
The Droid Max boasts an identical processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. With an 8.5mm profile it's a bit bulkier than the Ultra.
Voice-activated controls on both devices enable hands-free phone calls and searches.
The Ultra costs $199, while the Maxx costs $299.
