The nominations for the 2016 Oscars have been finally announced, and many are trying to guess who will win in each category. With its growing popularity and recent awards having gone to stars such as Pharrell, Common, Eminem and more, the Best Original Song category has become one of the most-watched categories. From Lady Gaga to Sam Smith, here are the five nominees.

1. Lady Gaga - "Til It Happens To You" from "The Hunting Ground"

Lady Gaga's song for the documentary about sexual assault on college campuses may make first-time listeners uncomfortable but that's because Lady Gaga's sings about a topic that is affecting many people today. "Til It Happens To You" is many critics frontrunner for the award.

2. Sumi Jo - "Simple Song #3" from "Youth"

Aside from "Til It Happens To You," "Simple Song #3" is many critics favorite to win the award.

3. J. Ralph and Antony - "Manta Ray" from "Racing Extinction"

Produced by J. Ralph and sang by Antony, Antony becomes only the second openly transgender person nominated for an Academy award.

4. Sam Smith - "Writing's On The Wall" from "Spectre"

The song from the latest James Bond film has an outside chance at winning the award.

5. The Weeknd - "Earned It" from "Fifty Shades of Grey"

Already a winner at the Grammys, The Weeknd's hit song from "Fifty Shades of Grey" may be the dark horse to win the award.
