'Luke Cage': 5 Cool Things You Didn't Know About Marvel/Netflix Star Mike Colter
"Jessica Jones" introduced the world to Marvel's new and upcoming superhero — Luke Cage. Mike Colter plays the bulked-up hero endowed with unbreakable skin and super-strength (as a result of an experiment gone horribly wrong). But very little is known about Colter, except that he starred in the series "Halo: Nightfall."

1. He played boxer Big Willie Little in "Million Dollar Baby"
Colter is no stranger to acting or the film industry having starred in "Million Dollar Baby" opposite Clint Eastwood, Hillary Swank and Morgan Freeman. The "Luke Cage" star gained 15 pounds of muscle before filming for the role.
2. Mike Colter's brother, Eddie L. Colter Jr., is a secret service agent
Marvel actors are famous for being very tight-lipped about their respective movie or TV show and Mike Colter is no exception. At least now we know where this "Luke Cage" actor got the skill of keeping secrets from.
3. The "Luke Cage" star is Viola Davis' cousin
We knew that smile looked familiar! Mike Colter is a cousin of Emmy award winner and critically acclaimed "How To Get Away With Murder" actress Viola Davis. Looks like acting in TV is in his genes!
What's more, Colter is no stranger to acting in television. Apart from "Jessica Jones," he's guest starred in "American Horror Story: Coven," "The Good Wife," "The Following," "Criminal Minds," "Law & Order: SVU" and "ER."
4. Mike Colter is married
Mike Colter may have locked lips with Krysten Ritter multiple times on "Jessica Jones," but he's actually happily married to Iva. He met his wife at Rutgers University where they were both studying.
Iva Colter isn't an actress but she does have a Ph.D.
5. He hates the gym
Don't be fooled by those abs and biceps, the Marvel actor hates the gym! Instead, Colter diversifies his workouts by swimming, playing basketball and eating lots of lean protein.
