(Photo : Scott Games/Steam) "Five Nights At Freddy's" and "Undertale" are two popular indie games, and one developer planned to make a crossover title of both universes. However, community hate from "Undertale" fans has called the project into question. Both games are available on Steam.

"Five Nights At Freddy's" and "Undertale" are two of the most cult-focused indie games of the moment, and one developer planned to combine the best parts of both titles into a single experience. Unfortunately, drama and death threats have caused the project to be canceled altogether.

The news comes to Design & Trend from "FNAFTALE's" planned creator at LSFDevelopment. Widespread community hate from "Undertale" enthusiasts has dashed this coder's hopes and dreams.

The storm began roughly 12 hours ago when the "FNAFTALE" debut trailer was uploaded to YouTube. Within minutes of the clip being available, zealous "Five Nights At Freddy's" haters let their voice be heard.

The conversation got so heated that death threats were leveled against the poster. One angry reaction encouraged a purge of the project from the depths of hell. That being said, at risk to his health and safety, it seems that the crossover title has been canceled altogether. The YouTube link housing the trailer has since been removed.

In commentary to the immense amount of hate leveled against his idea, LSFDevelopment had some pretty strong words. "People acting so immature don't deserve attention," he wrote. "At first, I thought quite humorous about them, but they showed such determination to literally prevent it from happening. I'm quite frankly sick of their s-t. There's only so much BS a man can take."

Of course, it's worth noting that not every fan of "Five Nights At Freddy's" or "Undertale" was enraged by the possibility of a fan-made crossover. As one "Undertale" fan said on Reddit, "At 'worst' we'd have gotten more people playing UT, ya know?" Another said the whole ordeal was "nothing to make people drink bleach over."

As many onlookers have discussed, the drama was seemingly sparked by a passionate sector of the "Undertale" community that's far from representative of the entire cult of players.

While "Five Nights At Freddy's" and "Undertale" may never cross paths again, the two titles actually have a fair bit in common with one another. Both titles are indie games made by a single coder that has quickly cultivated a vocal and loving fan base. While "Five Nights At Freddy's" turned its creator, Scott Cawthon, into a household name last year, in 2015, the same has been true for Toby Fox. Not only that, but both communities also rush to Reddit to share their theories and insights with other devoted followers.

With regard to gameplay, "FNAFTALE" intended to blend the simplistic RPG elements of "Undertale" with Scott Cawthon's animatronic universe. Before being taken down, its trailer showed simple character models as rendered in the "Undertale" art style. In some ways, the "Five Nights At Freddy's" RPG concept draws from Scott Cawthon's official "FNAF World" game that's expected to release next year.

Both "Five Nights At Freddy's" and "Undertale" are available in their singular form on Steam. The former is also available on mobile devices.

What do you think of the "FNAFTALE" drama? Should "Five Nights At Freddy's" and "Undertale" ever meet? Tell us your thoughts in the poll and comments section!
