Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience” and Macklemore Rock the Charts Topping 2013 Midyear Music Sales
Ending June 30, records showed that Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience” stands as 2013’s biggest-selling album with over two million copies. Other artists such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Bruno Mars, Pink and Mumford & Sons are also on the top of the charts.
After the album released on March 15, it ranked on “Billboard” at number one with 968,000 copies sold, USA Today reported. Fans are already getting hype about JT’s sequel, “The 20/20 Experience (2 of 2),” not only expecting it to be just as good, but even better.
Bruno Mars’ “Unorthodox Jukebox” released in December, coming in second with 985,000. Mumford & Sons’ “Babel” entered the charts at number three selling an additional 884,000 copies after its release in October 2012.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop” top the digital songs list with 5.56 million downloads. Pink’s “Just Give Me a Reason” comes in number two with 3.5 million downloads followed by Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” with 3.4 million downloads.
USA Today expects the rankings to drastically change in the second half after the release of Jay-Z’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail.” Other artists are also expected to release new singles such as John Mayer, Beyonce, Eminem, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Psy, Britney Spears and more.
