'The Following' Season 3 Promo Teases Cast Deaths, Ryan Hardy Lies And Possible Character Returns [WATCH]
A new promo for "The Following" season 3 teases cast deaths and mentions troublesome lies told by Kevin Bacon's Ryan Hardy.
The 20-second spot comes to Design & Trend via Spoiler TV and cycles through several quick cuts from "The Following's" third season. Backed to a cover of "One Way Or Another" by Blondie, the rapid promo reveals that Ryan Hardy's hunt for cult killers is far from over. In fact, this time, his adversaries appear far more sinister than ever before.
It's difficult to glean any serious plot details from the video, but the initial shot pans to what looks like a woman in a red dress with a bearded Mark or Lucas Gray peering from behind. Previous cast interviews divulged that Mark's story would be partially told through flashbacks, so the pictured woman might be Lily Gray.
On the broader scale, there are also quick cuts of needles, mannequins, struggling bodies and a bloody wall that reads "Ryan Hardy Lies." As for what lies the killer is referring to, that's a plot twist that fans of "The Following" will have to wait to find out.
Quite possibly the most interesting thing about this latest "Following" promo is the tagline that "no one is safe." This then cuts to several shots of new cast members begging for mercy on the verge of death. While it's not yet known exactly which characters will die during "The Following" season 3, Fox certainly wants its viewers to keep their minds open to any and all possibilities.
After all, Lily, Lucas, Debra, and Emma have all fallen victim to various forms of suffocating demise. In that sense, there's a feeling that this shocking and dark tradition will continue when the show returns in a little over a month. With many past plots of the series mostly resolved, the current main characters of concern are Ryan, Max, Mike and Mark. Is it possible that any one of those four will meet their maker by conclusion of the season 3 finale?
As the show's star, Kevin Bacon recently revealed that "The Following" season 3 will feature many of the same scares that fans have come to know and love. This promo exists to reassert that claim quite well.
For those that haven't been apprised of "The Following's" recent developments, the show will return to Fox with a two-hour season premiere on March 2. New cast highlights include "Smallville's" Allison Mack, as well as "Almost Human's" Michael Ealy.
As that premiere date draws closer, stay tuned to Design & Trend for more coverage of "The Following" season 3 than anyone else!
