Looking for the most romantic home in the United States of America? May be a bit difficult to locate it New York, California or even Texas.

Head straight to the Phoenix, Arizona, and right in the middle of the desert is the most romantic home, as judged by Amazing Dwellings website.

Named Villa Il Segreto or "The Secret", this classic 1935 European-style villa is located in the heart of Biltmore District, and editors of Amazing Dwellings say the house is “unlike anything they have ever seen before in the Phoenix, Arizona home market.”

This luxury home was originally designed by famed architect Robert T. Evans for his own private residence, and was later updated by designer Kristin Austin-Jacob. However, care has been taken to retain the original integrity of the house.

The house is spread across 5,300 sq ft and has four bedrooms and five full bathrooms.

The Secret is sheltered inside a private gated compound with a classic pool and manicured gardens enhancing the beauty of the house, a press release stated.

Another highlight of the property is that it blends both the indoor and outdoor settings. According to Luxury Real Estate, every room of the house has its own private courtyard, which merges the indoor and outdoor elements, thereby enhancing the cozy atmosphere.

Meanwhile, The Secret has stiff competition from the Penfield House in Ohio. Recently, Lonely Planet named the Louis Penfield House the “Most Romantic Place in the United States.”

The three-bedroom house is located in a secluded location in Lake County and is tipped as the ideal destination for romantic getaways and honeymoons. The house was built in 1955 on a 30-acre wooded lot and is designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The property has the Chagrin River running through it, which enhances the romantic feel of the place.

“This is not a bed-and-breakfast,” Paul Penfield told Ohio.com. “Guests live in the vacation house just as if they are living in their home. It’s ideal for people who are celebrating a special birthday or anniversary.”
