US Airways Adds $20 'premium' DineFresh food option
US Airways has come up with a new plan in which coach-class customers on the airline can now select a "premium meal option" on international flights.
The new plan will cost $19.99. The airline says its "DineFresh" option will leave its international coach-class customers with more options for the meals for which they have to pay extra to choose either a vegetarian meal that includes Portobello mushroom tortellini and turtle cheesecake or a meat option that includes citrus-marinated chicken skewers, seasonal grilled vegetables, classic shrimp cocktail and creme brulee cheesecake.

The regular menu will not be replaced, but fliers will have the option to pay extra for a higher-quality meal. The DineFresh meals will only be served if the passenger reserves it or purchases 24 hours before their flight.
"The new DineFresh meal option, which is paired with complimentary wine, gives our customers more choices when traveling internationally in Economy," Hector Adler, vice president, InFlight Services, said in a release. "With this new option, US Airways becomes the first U.S.-based carrier to offer a premium meal experience for customers in the main cabin."
The new Dine DineFresh program allows customers to choose from either a vegetarian meal consisting of a Caprese salad with balsamic dressing, Portobello mushroom tortellini, Mediterranean-style appetizer and turtle cheesecake for dessert or a protein meal consisting of citrus-marinated chicken skewers, seasonal grilled vegetables, classic shrimp cocktail and creme brulee cheesecake for dessert.
