Microsoft introduced a new tablet on Monday at a media event in Los Angeles.
Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, and Steven Sinofsky, President of Windows, took the stage and introduced the new tablet "Surface" at the event.
According to them, the tablets have "significant advances in industrial design and attention to detail", expecting the company to become a major player in the tablet market, challenging Apple's iPad and Samsung's Galaxy Tab. Microsoft Surface was available in two versions - Pro Surface and RT Surface.

The new tablets will have a 10.6-inch ClearType HD screen with 1920x1080 resolution. Pro Surface is 13.5 mm think and weights 903 gram, while RT Surface is 9.3 mm thick and weighs 676 grams.
Another very interesting feature that comes with Microsoft Surface is its cover that can turn into a keyboard. The keyboard is tactile multi-touch and uses a stylus which can read at 600 dots per inch. And when you fold over the 3-millimeter keyboard, it serves as a protective cover.
Microsoft Surface is expected to hit the market this coming fall.
