California Teen Nails Perfect Performance Of Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' At Talent Show [VIDEO]
A video of a high school teen performing Michael Jackson's rendition of "Billie Jean" has recently gone viral on various video streaming sites including YouTube.
According to News 10, Brett Nichols, the 17-year-old performer showcased his dancing skills at a local talent show last week.
In an interview with News 10 in California, Nichols explained why he thought Jackson's music still holds weight despite being deceased for almost five years.
"I guess people still miss him, it's been five years (since his death). The younger generation appreciates the work, and not only does someone care, but someone cared to put in the time," Nichols said.
Nichols also said that YouTube helped him find Jackson's music, which led to him being a fan of the King of Pop's work.
"YouTube came around and you could find all the videos and songs I remembered hearing," Nichols said. "Then it was possible to see the choreography, it inspired me. And then I thought, 'why isn't this something I can't do.' Then it was practice, practice, watch, learn and take notes."
With over 7 million views in less than a week it's clear to see that the decade of practice Nichols has surely paid off. Even with that, Nichols still said he thought he had room for improvement, which means we may get to see a better version of the dance one day.
