World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 will participate in the Helsinki EU Office event in the European Union's capital, Brussels.

Helsinki EU Office is an office located in Brussels and jointly maintained by the City of Helsinki, University of Helsinki, Uusimaa Regional Council and Regional Council of Kymenlaakso, safeguarding the EU interests of Finnish operators and aiming to increase their visibility on EU forums. The goal is to promote cooperation between other metropolitan areas within the Baltic Region.

The event to be organised on 24 January will feature a fashion show by Finnish fashion designer Jasmin Santanen and a photography exhibition 'Kristian Art'. Furthermore, the WDC Helsinki 2012 executive director Pekka Timonen will introduce the events and programmes of the year to the local audience. The event will be organised at the Helsinki EU Office under the patronage of the Finnish ambassador to Belgium, Per-Mikael Engberg.
