Childish Gambino: '3005' Originally Recorded Over Hit Boy 'Trophies' Beat Drake Took [LISTEN]
Childish Gambino recently stopped by BBC 1 Radio for an interview and live session with Zane Lowe, offering up a bit of interesting news: his hit track, "3005," was actually originally recorded over the Hit Boy beat used by Drake for "Trophies."
Gambino also opened up about his latest album, because the internet, and his plans for his upcoming Deep Web Tour. The rapper/actor/comedian also performed tracks "Crawl," "Candy Rain," and the aforementioned "3005" for Lowe. The interview/performance session is definitely worth a listen if you have 20 minutes to spare. Check it out at BBC.
The modern-day renaissance man also recently stopped by the BBC Live Lounge to play some music, including a cover of PM Dawn's "I'd Die Without You," and surprise—it was really good.
As Slate Magazine notes, maybe it's time for the former Community star to consider an R&B career.

About a month ago, the "3005" rapper announced a tour for his latest studio album, because the internet. The 19-track "experience" featured cameos from artists including Chance The Rapper, Azealia Banks, Jhene Aiko and Andrew Auernheimer.
Dubbed The Deep Web Tour 2014, Gambino kicked off about a week ago in London, and will head to North America in late February for a show in Oakland, wrapping up in early May in Los Angeles.
