Save the Thorncrown Chapel! Sign a Petition to Stop SWEPCO from Annihilating the Immediate Landscape
In 1980, E. Fay Jones, a well-known architect and a trainee to Frank Lloyd Wright, uncovered the Thorncrown Chapel, which is one of the world's finest examples of organic architecture and it has become a holy and beloved monument for the people of Eureka and architecture fans across the world. This symbolic building is located in the middle of a thicket near Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Unluckily, the Thorncrown Chapel is no safer, because the Southwest Power Company (SWEPCO) recently requested the Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) to build a 48-mile-long high voltage transmission line across Northwest Arkansas. Moreover, the 48-mile-long will intrude upon the Thorncrown Chapel's intact landscape. While a number of community members have stated their disagreement, much more support is essential - sign this petition to stop SWEPCO from destroying the site of this important work!

The circular shape coupled with the bright lights outlining its perimeter, with a completely new design, is what gives this fantastical impression.
